After receiving a scholarship from SMART (Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation) through the Department of Defense for my Master’s program at Clemson, I began working at Air Force Research Laboratories on Eglin Air Force base in Florida. I operate as an Industrial Engineer on a team consisting of mostly Aerospace, Electric, Computer, and Research Engineers. My team works to develop new technologies for guidance, navigation, and control of munitions for the Air Force. I specialize in task optimization to ensure that all team members understand timelines and how their work impacts the team. I take ownership of a Microsoft Project file to track tasks and deadlines for flight tests of our technology, which takes meticulous attention to detail. I direct a weekly meeting to present this file where we proactively address upcoming tasks and organize the team’s schedule. Within the team, I quickly earned the position of Project Manager overseeing two technical contracts, and am pursuing the proposal and development of a third contract. As an Industrial Engineer, I focus on operations and project management as well as continuous improvement projects for my team.
